A treble of winners at Jerilderie on Saturday has continued a red-hot start to the 2026/27 season for the Craig Weeding racing stable.

Weeding sent only four runners to the meeting, and it proved an eventful day, with the stable scoring three victories, being involved in a dead-heat, and landing a placing in the Jerilderie Cup.

Kicking off the day was a win by Charleston Lane ($2.10) in the 1000m Maiden Plate, with Jake Duffy riding the 3YO Street Boss filly to an impressive victory.

A race later, Duffy was in the saddle again as Cilento ($3) made it back-to-back victories in the 1000m Benchmark 58 Handicap.

The 6YO All Too Hard mare won well in the 1000m Benchmark 50 Handicap at Griffith on September 12 and followed up that effort by holding off some nice types, including runner-up Winter Hail, at Jerilderie.

Another last-start Griffith winner, Pippie Pomar ($5), also got the chocolates on Saturday, with Hannah Edgley on board in the 1200m Benchmark 45 Handicap.

The 4YO Sun City mare was stepping up from maiden class and ran well, finishing in a dead-heat for victory with the Erin Maher-trained Gargantuan (Chelsea Taylor, $10).

The ever-consistent Fox Appeal ($6), second-up following a spell, showed he is in for another big preparation, running third in the 1400m Jerilderie Cup for Justin Stanley.

The 7YO Foxwedge gelding generally takes a run or two to find his best each preparation, and he will appreciate the outing and a rise in distance going forward.

Following another good day at the races, Weeding is now on nine wins for the 2026/27 season, which includes seven victories in the Southern Districts.

The stable recently landed a Griffith double, and on the same day, Weeding and Duffy celebrated their 100th win together.

Weeding and his team will look to continue their good form this week, with Jake Duffy riding Bloomin’ Rich in the 1450m Maiden Plate and Paparazzo in the 1200m Benchmark 62 Handicap at Kilmore on Monday.

Then on Tuesday, the stable has three chances at Tatura, with Cory Parish riding Alpha Mensae and Jett Stanley aboard Court Jester in the 1100m Maiden Plate, and Jett Stanley riding Brave Summit in the 1100m Maiden Plate for fillies and mares.
